NFL PLAY 60 QuakerKids Triathlon

T-shirts to the first 100 registered!  Fills up fast, don't miss out.

A community favorite, and one of the largest children's (over 150 in 2010) Triathlons on the east coast, the QuakerKids Triathlon is a fun introduction to the sport of triathlon for children of all ages.  Typically ages are 3 - 12 yrs. old.  The race course is a 25 (3 to 7 yrs. old) and 75 ( 8 to 12 yrs. old) meter swim in Green Lake and will be monitored by all of the Recreation Departments Life Guard Staff as well as the Buffalo Police Departments Underwater Recovery Team, making this an extremely safe swim.

The Kids Tri will then head out on the 1.4 mile bike for kids 8-12 yrs. old, and ride to the Orchard Park library where they will then turn north(right) on N. Buffalo St. to N. Lake St. and back to transition.  Kids 3-7 yrs. old will ride to N. Buffalo St and do a U-turn and head back to transition.  Once off the bike, the kids will run a 1/2  mile run around the baseball field.  This is a spectator friendly race, and we encourage any and all parents to run beside and encourage their children.

This fun event will start soon after the last competitor of the adult race crosses the finish line.  We recommend that children arrive no later than 11:00 for an approximate 11:30 am start.  Make sure they get their bodies marked just like the "big kids" in the recreation department building.
